After a string of unforgettable warehouse parties featuring the likes of Funkineven, Linkwood, Mark de Clive-LoweSteve Spacek and Raf Daddy, Lioness Presents is venturing inside, spending a winters night deep and warm within the surrounds of the Goodgod Danceteria.

Flying in to join us is Detroit native RECLOOSE (Rush Hour / Delusions of Grandeur / Planet E).

A mighty fine DJ with 15 years of international gigs and celebrated productions under his belt, Recloose sprang to fame via his soulful-future-funk releases on Carl Craig’s Planet E label. Following LP releases on both Peacefrog and Sonar Kollektiv he has since found a home at Rush Hour, unleashing a solid run of dancefloor 12’s spanning House, funk, disco and techno vibes. The past couple of months have seen Recloose heating up floors around the world, with his visit to Sydney rounding off a tour that has included Plastic People (LDN), Panoroma Bar (BLN) & Do Over (LA).

“Pure gold.” PITCHFORK

“Recloose is the grain of sand from the beach that is somehow still in your hair after you shower. It is music at its greatest, with a real focus on melody, measure, and mood.” URB

“(Recloose) lies at the intersection of several scenes bubbling up around electronic dance: moody techno; the half-programmed, half-live sound of broken beat; the computer-processed turntablism of Prefuse 73; even synth-heavy jazz from the late ’70s and early ’80s (later borrowed by Chicago househeads like Larry Heard).” ALL MUSIC

Also joining the party is original Lioness fam INKSWEL, a master of 80’s drum machine boogie and all that good future soul stuff. The Melbourne resident has a lovely set of records forthcoming. Labels like Firecracker, Dopeness Galore and Faces are all queuing up to get their hands on his p-funk synth joints. Mosca, Erol Alkan, Mr Beatnik and Ruf Dug have all found space in recent sets for some of his jams. If that’s not enough, he also finds time to run Hot Shot Sounds, a young vinyl only imprint showcasing the likes of Freekwency & Nite Class.

Lioness residents Edseven, Henry Compton and Fred Tectonic fill in the gaps, join the dots and generally play great old and new records to keep the vibe moving.
