A new night is being hosted at the Whitehorse in Surry Hills
Downtempo, Chill sexy beats brought to you each week by myself (DJ Zac – Seattle, Sydney) and stellar guest DJ’s that play something a little different from their collections. This night is for the music lovers and a great way to hang out and still make it to work the next day (or not).
This night came from my desire to provide a weekly platform in Sydney, like I did in Seattle that offers Downtempo, Rare Grooves and Beats that you just can’t hear at the clubs on the weekend.
I would like to thank the Soul Of Sydney people for putting on the Block parties and other events. The love for music and the great friendly vibe carries on every Thursday night at the Whitehorse.
Most of you have been there or know of the space, it’s gorgeous with tons of room, great mix of people, food and a place you can chill and hear some great beats. Hope to see you all for Nick ‘Caratgold’ Gilmore (Soul of Sydney) and myself.
Also for those into African Music vibes be sure to keen an ear out for the African Film Festival fundraiser “MUSIC IS THE WEAPON’ that will showcase the amazing documentary from 1983 on FELA KUTI by the same name. The night will also feature Sydney’s own AFRO BEAT legends The Liberators play live in a rare personal tribute to some of their inspirations followed by Soul Of Sydney DJ’s & Friends paying our own special tribute with a solid dose of Afro-Beat & Afro-Funk sounds to close off the night.
