La Discothéque is BACK and ready to bring human happiness to your dance floor channeled through boogie, disco and house, old and new. This time around we’ve enlisted two of Sydney’s finest selectors, Boogie Monster and Dj Frenzie. R

BOOGIE MONSTER
Aka Alex Dimitriades is known within the Sydney scene for igniting dance floors with his deep selections. Expect an all vinyl affair from this connoisseur of rare boogie, disco and house.

DJ FRENZIE
One of Sydney’s most trusted DJ and host of the weekly radio show Groove Therapy on 2SER, Frenzie is known to consistently rock a party with his deep crates and ability to blend seamlessly between genres like no other. We are humbled to have him join us for this one.

Inspired by the music and inclusive ethos of New York’s heady club scene in the 80s & 90s; La Discothéque will deliver you a belly full of warm and fuzzies! We can’t wait to party with you.

This is a little Our House winter promo mix from the archives, I think this was the first mix we actually put out, way back in winter 2008 as a couple music heads frustrated not enough DISCO was being played in Sydney.

 

This one is still a sentimental favorite for us, it features a few personal edits put together just for the mix & some of the NEW YORK DISCO & SOULFUL HOUSE sounds we knew definitely weren’t getting played enough in Sydney.

We are excited to be also be hosting another very rare afternoon set from Sydney’s own home legendary DJ & Producer Mr Stephen Allkins.

Being one of the true pioneers of dance music in Sydney & playing the the very first disco clubs & warehouse parties from 1978, it is safe to say that Stephen Allkins aka [love] tattoo could rightly claim the trademark of “Mr.Disco”, his extensive record collection & his infamous sets over the years and legacy is also a testament to that.

He first started DJing in the late 70’s and has inspired a whole generation of DJ’s through his infamous sets at warehouse parties, raves and clubs over the years and some absolutely blissful production as [Love-Tattoo]

Expect a very special journey through the disco, funk & early house sounds that matter from the original DJ’s DJ who has seen it and done it all.
