Rest In Eternal Peace, Paris Pompor | (7 May 1967 – 7 May 2025)

We were deeply saddened to hear our friend, Paris Pompor (Paris Groovescooter) passed away earlier this month on his birthday, May 7.

Many will remember him for incredible contributions to Sydney’s music & film scenes over the years. He was a tireless supporter of others, always lifting people up with his conversations, guidance, and presence.

For everyone who knew him, danced to his sets, or would like to celebrate his life, there will be a tribute party today at Red Rattler Theatre from 4pm. Friends from across the scenes will come together to honour the legacy of someone who gave so much.

On a personal level, Paris and Georgie at Groovescooter were among the very first to guide us when we were just new to the community and a space we knew little about. They helped us find our feet, offering support through their radio show and their belief in what we were doing and coaching us through events very early on. Paris helped us in so many ways over the years, like he did for everyone. Generously giving his time & support to anyone who needed it.

From featuring us on his radio show, to supporting tribute and birthday events for 2SER, closing parties for Roller Boogie, and countless DJ sets together. His presence always brought a very special energy.

Looking back now, he was the kind of person you feel lucky to have met. We were lucky to cross paths with him. His presence not only helped shape what we do in the music scene, it also helped shape who we are as people.

For everyone who knew him, danced to his sets, or would like to celebrate his life, there will be a tribute party today at Red Rattler Theatre from 4pm. Friends from across the scenes will come together to honour the legacy of someone who gave so much.
