TRUTH FOR THE YOUTH Local collectives, Foreigndub and Dynamic PR are working in conjunction with Waterloo Youth Centre (Weave) to present "Truth for the Youth" – an all-ages music and skate event initiative to grant youth access to alternative (to mainstream) music that they may not otherwise receive. With most Sydney music venues and events targeted at young adults, “Truth for the Youth” brings the quality of underground music, positive messages, and safe fun into our local youth culture. Sydney Dance/Hip Hop act Kobra Kai will play live to launch their new album with support from Stolen Records, Foreigndub, Dj Semper-Fi, Rollers Music, Dj Finesse, and a set by the graduates of Weave’s very own Step Up DJ Program! There will be action on the park all day with pro- demos from Roberto Fernandez, and plenty of time for a free skate. Weave will provide a cheap and tasty sausage sizzle and soft drinks. “Young people from our DJ, beats & music mixing course will be performing at ‘Truth for the Youth’ and we will be raising money to buy resources for our education programs. Weave Youth Services provides support to disadvantaged young people and helps build the energy culture and feel of the heart of Sydney, Downtown Redfern and Waterloo.” [Shane “It’s going to be a great opportunity to connect with our local youth, and encourage them to listen to good music.
