A mainstay with us for over 15 years, Ed’s journey has been incredible to witness — from selector to globally respected DJ, remixer, producer, and vinyl tastemaker recognized for his impeccable sound, one-of-a-kind setup, and deep musical taste. His closing sets have become the stuff of Soul of Sydney legend, and this year’s was no exception — packed to the rafters with dedicated dancers hanging back to catch him do his thing.

Gliding effortlessly through soul, disco, house, and a touch of UK garage, Edseven delivered a masterclass in flow — extended blends, smooth transitions, and perfect timing — taking the crowd from vintage grooves to timeless edits. Every track felt like a conversation with the dancers, building on the day’s energy and wrapping it all up in pure, feel-good vibes.

This closing moment has become a Soul of Sydney NYD tradition, a living snapshot of what our community is all about: open-hearted music lovers connecting under the summer sky through rhythm, love, and joy.

ON this SATURDAY our family at FREEDOM SESSIONS will be hosting their dope MUSIC & DANCE jam session for lovers real rhythms.

This is definitely one we recommend, they will be kicking off with a DANCE WORSKHOP & then move straight into free-form cipher night with DJ Sets dropping everything for GARAGE, HOUSE, HIP HOP, AFROBEAT & beyond.

We know…. it’s finally here… Have we got a super treat for you, we are honoured to have Frankie J onboard with us this month.

Frankie is hosting a bunch of workshops over the next few weeks, so if you want a lil taster he is joining us for Freedom Sessions.

Not only do we have Frankie but we have the OG Kristelle Morin on the 1s and 2s to shut it down. Jeremiah Gutierrez will also be on the decks and your host Laura J White will be there from 7pm.

This is a night for dancers to gather who love House music and Hip Hop, under one roof, to Jam!

A Cypher is a Circle where dancers express their creativity and love for the music. The Dj plays their favourite tunes and people interpret however they wish within the Cypher – Freedom is the key! (New York has set the global bench mark for this scene which we want to emulate in Sydney)
