Join us for a very special SOUL OF SYDNEY afternoon as we welcome one of our biggest musical inspirations, New York DJ, producer and remixer KENNY DOPE of MASTERS AT WORK
This one is a little different for us, but it’s something we’ve wanted to make happen for a long time.
Kenny has been part of our music story for years, and we’ve had the pleasure of seeing him play before. We wanted to create an open-air afternoon, surrounded by familiar faces, our tribe and like-minded music heads. A rare chance to catch one of the world’s legendary DJs and producers in an open-air setting, with the freedom to play whatever he’s feeling from HIP HOP TO HOUSE, FUNK, SOUL, DISCO & everything in between.
ABOUT KENNY DOPE
Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Kenny “Dope” Gonzalez has been digging, collecting, producing and DJing since the 1980s.
He is one half of the legendary production and DJ partnership Masters At Work, who helped shape a sound that brought together house, disco, Latin, jazz, soul influences, creating a musical language that continues to influence dancefloors around the world.
Away from Masters At Work, Kenny’s catalogue stretches across decades and countless musical worlds. He’s also known for The Bucketheads, including the classic The Bomb! (These Sounds Fall Into My Mind), as well as his work through Dope Wax, Nuyorican Soul, Kay-Dee Records, his legendary edits and his much-loved DJ mixes celebrating hip hop, disco, boogie and underground dance music.
