The legendary Uprock Block Party is back this Saturday, November 15th, bringing a full day of breaking, balling, beats, and BBQ to the heart of Woolloomooloo.
Our good friends at Krosswerdz are teaming up with Woolloomoolivin’ and Youth & Family Connect to throw the ultimate free community celebration of Hip Hop culture — music, graffiti, breaking, basketball and more.
As DJs and dancers ourselves, we can honestly say that the crew behind Krosswerdz have shaped us not just musically, but in spirit too. These guys have been holding it down for years, staying true to the pure essence of Hip Hop, faith, positivity, and connection with everything they do rooted in their values. They have always been immensely supportive of everything we had done over the years, and offered so much time early when we were just learning our craft and when we started putting parties on. The have been doing their thing for years, connecting people through and & uplifting spirits. These BLOCK PARTY events they do have always been about bringing people together, spreading good energy, and using music to empower and uplift communities.
We highly recommend checking this one out for an afternoon of pure vibes — run by some of the most treasured people in Australia’s Hip Hop scene, good-hearted souls working hard to keep the real spirit of the culture alive.
BREAKS: Catch one of NSW’s most competitive Breaking comps, featuring the 2-on-2 All Styles Battles. Expect cyphers, raw talent, and energy from the floor up as B-Boys and B-Girls battle for glory and respect.
BASKETBALL: Round up your crew for the 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament, with cash prizes and bragging rights up for grabs.
HIP HOP VIBE: Live graffiti, DJs, and classic Hip Hop all day long, that authentic block party feel that Uprock is known for.
