ANDREW BUKENYA: BACH IN COLOUR at SYDNEY FESTIVAL | Joyous Vocal Music Inspired by BACH

We are so excited to see ANDREW BUKENYA: BACH IN COLOUR happening as part of the SYDNEY FESTIVAL this year at Walsh Bay Art Precinct.

From Mozart to Marsalis, Robert and Clara Schumann to Roberta Flack, Piazzolla, Florence Price and Poulenc to Paul McCartney. Centuries after his death, Bach’s music and singular musical intellect continues to inspire and excite musicians across genres and forms.

Join Andrew Bukenya and a hand-picked vocal ensemble in a short, intimate and joyous acapella program of vocal music inspired by the Baroque master. This vocal celebration spans Bach motets and Renaissance polyphony through to sounds inspired by Ward Swingle, spirituals, soul and beyond.

As the indomitable Nina Simone said: “[Bach’s notes] always add up to climaxes, like ocean waves getting bigger and bigger.”

Bach in Colour is a joy-filled concert that will transport and uplift.

Many would know Andrew from Dancefloors over the years, and host of SUNDAY SANCTUARY jams over the years.

We all met on dancefloors many many years ago at SOULFUL house gigs, and he has been a good friend, supporter and musical influence over the years. We knew he was into house sound for years and also found oun he hosts Fine Music radio show on ABC, and curates of very interesting classical music showcases like this.

We are all heading down a group if anyone would like to come down just email us at soulofsydney@gmail.com
