Keep Sydney Open Rally on THIS SUNDAY from 12:30 pm at Belmore Park

Dear lover of Sydney!

The time has come for all of us to show what people power can do. You signed the petition, you liked us on Facebook, you’ve had countless whinges to your mates and the cab driver, now it’s time for the real test. Nothing makes a statement like boots on the ground, and this Sunday you’ll have your opportunity to march against these ridiculous lockouts.

SHOW YOU’RE ATTENDING ON THE EVENT PAGE

The rally will meet at Belmore Park in Central at 12:30pm before heading further into the city and onto Hyde Park. Dave Faulkner from Hoodoo Gurus, Isabella Manfredi fromThe Preatures, author and Crikey political editor Bernard Keane will be speaking alongside Tyson Koh from Keep Sydney Open. And we’re excited to announce it here first: Nina Las Vegas will jump on the mic and play a few tunes!

All this as well as live performances from Art vs Science and Royal Headache. It’s a celebration of all that is good in Sydney!

You can help make the march a success and more fun…

– Make a sign. Because that’s what you do at protests! But remember: clever > insulting.

– Look out for each other, because with the numbers we’re expecting it might get overwhelming.

– Bring friends and family. Every. Person. Matters.

If you are keen to help out on the day or in the lead-up, please write totyson.

If you’re keen to wear a Keep Sydney Open t-shirt, you can pick some up from Freda’s Bar in Chippendale during the week for $20. There will also be a few floating around at the rally.

It’s been an amazing ride these last couple of weeks, and we want to thank you for taking this issue to heart. Some of you have been with us for over two years now and you’ll appreciate the journey it’s been getting to this point.

Remember, Melbourne got rid of their lockout with a turnout of 17,000 people. Not meaning to stir up the rivalry but we can do better! We have to.

See you and your mates on Sunday 🙂
