To wrap up the labels 4th year, Big Village Records are throwing two Xmas parties, over two weekends in Sydney and Melbourne this December, featuring label favourites Daily Meds, True Vibenation, Loose Change, Suburban Dark, Rapaport and one very special guest.
For the first ever Melbourne Big Village Xmas party, the crew are jumping on the tour bus and taking the party down to the Northcote Social Club on Saturday December 13th with help from Melbourne’s godfather of rhyme himself Mantra on hosting duties.
The following weekend, the label returns to it’s spiritual homeland of King St, Newtown for a very special show at Newtown Social Club, the venue where the label was launched back in 2010 (as the Sando) on Saturday December 20th, hosted by Jeswon.
2014 has seen Big Village Records stay very busy with 2 acclaimed official album releases True Vibenation’s sophomore album ‘On’, Daily Meds’ sophomore album ‘Sour Milk’ and Loose Change’s ‘Lost Remixes’ and ‘Remix Party’ EPs. Loose Change were one of the winners of the Triple J Unearthed NIDA video competion with their song ‘Grown Up’ featuring Jeswon (Thundamentals) Big Village have also presented a range of diverse events including national tours from Daily Meds, True Vibenation and Loose Change, and a stack of local events including the ‘Big Visions – Vivid party’, two ‘Killa Combo’ club nights at Goodgod Small club, and the first ‘Cross City Sessions’ at Jam Gallery.
Big Village have an even more packed 2015 planned with some very big news on the way in the next few weeks.
