NICOLAS JAAR, AFRICA HITECH, OSCAR KEY SUNG AND HIATUS KAIYOTE ADDED TO RED BULL MUSIC ACADEMY STAGE @ SPLENDOUR 2014

THURSDAY NIGHT RBMA PRE-PARTY ALSO ANNOUNCED

A few weeks ago Red Bull Music Academy announced its return to Splendour In The Grass for a second year, revealing a stellar line up of ground breaking home grown and international talent to appear on the Tokyo themed stage. As if the initial announcement wasn’t big enough, RBMA now unveils the complete bill – adding two international acts, a number of rising local stars, as well as the introduction of a Thursday night pre-party to the festival proceedings.

Splendour-goers are certainly in for a treat this year as the RBMA sweets keep on coming. RBMA now expands the line up with a DJ set from Nicolas Jaar (Other People – NYC), one half of the inimitable electronic duo Darkside, who will be joining fellow international acts Africa Hitech (UK / WARP), Peanut Butter Wolf (US) and Nguzunguzu (US).

Making the trek up to Byron from Melbourne are neo-soul ensemble Hiatus Kaiyote, electronic triple threat (singer-songwriter-producer) Oscar Key Sung, 2014-tipped synth songstress bAnoffee and time/genre-defying beat maker Andras Fox, completing a who’s who of electronic talent from Australia and beyond.

The good folk at Red Bull have also teamed up with their friends at Audiopaxx to set up camp a day early this year for the inaugural Splendour on-site pre-party, recruiting some of their nearest and dearest into the Thursday night line-up. wordlife, Indian Summer, Yahtzel and L D R U are just some of the acts that will be playing intimate sets – warming the hearts and raising body temperatures of all the eager campers who are unwilling to wait for the Friday programme to kick off, and / or are looking for a way to keep warm Thursday night.

Red Bull Music Academy released the initial line up for their Tokyo-themed stage a few weeks ago, confirming the likes of hip hop visionary and Stone’s Throw label owner Peanut Butter Wolf, LA experimental electronic duo Nguzunguzu, as well as Australia’s own Nicole Millar, Sampology, Young Franco and many more on the bill.

Finally, when you thought things couldn’t get any better, Brisbane-based prodigy Young Franco, a daily fixture on the line-up has created this exclusive mix featuring some of the artists set to play the RBMA stage.

If there were ever reason to develop a serious case of FOMO, this would be it. See full line up below.
