About James
James Chatburn is a singer, songwriter and producer from Sydney., encompassing a style that is hard to describe. A mixture of acoustic, soul, blues and folk music, this young man has meshed influences from a wide variety of musical styles to create music which does not fit into any mould. His influences span from Corinne Bailey Ray to Bonnie Raitt, John Mayer to Ben L’oncle Soul.
In 2010 he released his debut EP “Sickness and Health”, blending the influences of his love for both folk and soul. Since then he has been tucked away, developing a style all his own, giving the world a sneak peek of his grasp of genres with his project “Scrapbook Sessions”.
2013 heralds the making his self produced EP, a cacophony of sexy new sounds.
His achievements include having shared the stage with the likes of Rai Thistlewaitt (Thirsty Merc), and supported acts such as Keb Mo, Katie Noonan (George), Ian Moss (Cold Chisel), Tim Finn, Diesel, Brian Cadd, Richard Clapton (Daddy Cool), Bobby Flynn, Mia Dyson, 1927, gangajang, The Black Sorrows, Ross Wilson, John Waters and The Bondi Cigars.
