The Experience Entertainment Group – owner of Surry Hills hot-spot The Soda Factory – will tour the legendary DJ Jazzy Jeff to Australia on Dec 13th & 14th, which will see the Grammy Award-winning hip hop DJ & producer feature a wide selection ranging from his early career, to more recent solo and collaborative hits.

On Saturday 14th December – in a special daytime party at ivy pool club – the Philly-based icon is set to bring his unique party spirit to Sydney for the first time in over 8 years, busting out his armory of hits & turntable acrobatics poolside, supported by his long-time MC, Skillz. Did someone say block party!?

One of the hip-hop scene’s earliest pioneers & best-loved artists, DJ Jazzy Jeff is commercially best known for his chart-topping collaborations with Will Smith – DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince. The duo shot to worldwide acclaim through multi-platinum hits such as ‘Summertime’, ‘Boom! Shake The Room’ and ‘Girls Ain’t Nothing But Trouble’.

In 1988, the duo gained the honor of being awarded the first ever Grammy Award for a hip hop/rap song (for ‘Parents Just Don’t Understand’). Worldwide TV acclaim soon followed for the pair courtesy of seminal US Sitcom ‘The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’– with Will Smith playing the lead and Jazzy Jeff playing recurring character ‘Jazz’, which featured their music and saw the pair always greeting each other with their signature handshake throughout the early show’s seasons.

Since selling 40 million copies worldwide of their five studio albums, the two have since gone on to become legends in their chosen fields, with Jeff forming his ‘A Touch of Jazz’ production company, releasing two original DJ Jazzy Jeff albums, countless DJ Mix compilations, and working with everyone from Jill Scott, De La Soul, DJ Cash Money & even Michael Jackson.
