The innovative approach and original compositions of Ten Part Invention have been an inspiration to the Australian contemporary jazz scene. Performances are always colourful, thrilling and adventurous. At this event the band will be playing compositions by Sandy Evans, Miroslav Bukovsky and Roger Frampton, as well as premiering a new work by Paul Cutlan.Even though Frampton’s piano playing is absent, we hear him still through his inspiring compositions and John Pochee’s 10-piece Ten Part Invention remains a strong unit, where spirited performances are guaranteed given such brilliant soloists on board.
