This one’s strictly about house music – but from a TDR perspective. From A like Amalia to V like Vindahl, this first issue of ‘The Move’ features nearly all of your favourite TDR artists in a house frenzy. With previously unreleased remixes, edits and DJ versions from the likes of Alex Barck (Jazzanova), Andreas Saag (Swell Session), Atjazz, Blaktroniks, Kissey, Opolopo, Om Unit and more, it’s definitely time to get your move on!
Mic Check 1234! is a remix album consisting of rap and punk music. Despite their initial musical differences, the two genres also share many traits. Great rap and great punk both make you want to affect change, to rebel against the status quo, or to simply just get up and move. The music often stemmed from a place of social and economic inequality while exhibiting a fierce do-it-yourself attitude in the process; inspiring kids all over the world to strap on guitars, scream into microphones, ruin turntables, and mash drum machines. My aim was to take my favorite emcees’ more socio-political material and pair it with some of the best punk bands ever. This is the result. Download the full project at http://miccheck1234.com
