JR.Dynamite hails from Sydney, Australia. A fan of filtered DISCO, ballin’ SOUL, flarn flarn filthy FUNK, nostalgic HIPHOP, rootsy REGGAE and Latin BOOGALOO. The first vinyl he owned was ‘Star Wars – read along story book’.

The first CD he owned was ‘Batman: The Movie‘ Sountrack by Prince.

The first piece of music he bought with his own pocket money was ‘Alice Cooper, Trash’.

Since his brother took him to the late “Reachin’ Records” on Oxford Street, Darlinghurst in 1995 he has been a Music Lover and for the past 16 years a DJ, Producer and Party Promoter.

A mix our main man, Sydney based DJ & wax collector DJ Lambie put together way this dope mix-tape wayback in 1992-93 with no computers, no digital recorders.. just on 2 12’s & a mixer with a leaking fader and a tape deck!

The man recorded this way back  & saved in a shoe box till the he had a chance to get it on computer for us to enjoy. When you hear that crackle in the background you can be sure its not someone cooking bacon… just some of that warm static hum we all love !

This is a REAL mix-tape from a local cat who has been doing his though for years around town. Catch him Sundays on THE BLACK PRESIDENT RADIO SHOW on Koori Radio and playing around town.

(In Memory of the Fifth Anniversary of JAMES BROWN’s Death)

For the third X-mas in a row THE BEIRUT GROOVE COLLECTIVE keeps the tradition of funk, soul, rare groove and breaks in this city and the Middle East, alive. However this time we are getting closer to the heart of the action by taking over the former infamous CLUB SOCIAL where three of THE BGC DJs used to spin regularly (DJ Stickfiggr, Ernesto and Ramsay Short).
This time THE BEIRUT GROOVE COLLECTIVE commemorate the fifth anniversary of James Brown’s death, with long list of DJs, artists and visual artists. To top it all off, this year Supreme Sandwiches and Samosas will be on sale from Firas Yatbokh!
