DJ Jazzy Jeff (Jeff Townes) and his tour party crew popped into Surry Hills hidden hotspot, The Soda Factory, to sample the venue’s American diner menu upon arrival in Australia, and loved the space so much that Jeff insisted he wanted to play there after his Sydney show!

Owner Graham Cordery commented, “Jeff said an intimate surprise show would be an amazing gesture for his local fan base. I’m delighted to announce that after his Sydney show on Saturday 14th Dec, the Grammy Award-winning DJ Jazzy Jeff will be spinning at The Soda Factory along with his MC, Skillz”. Best known for his chart-topping collaborations with Will Smith (DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince) and having sold over 10 million albums, Jeff is one of the most influential names in hip hop. Word on the street is that the folks at The Soda Factory sure know how to throw a sweet party at short-notice, or sometimes none at all! Some of their past surprise drop-ins include platinum-selling musician, Jason Mraz, indie superstars, Foals, the daddy of DJ’ing himself, Grandmaster Flash, pioneering DJ, Greg Wilson, as well as legendary crate-digger, Joey Negro!
