Tone CLOSING.. FINAL Month of Shows..

It looks like Sydneys is becoming a music Ghost TOWN.. TONE (SYDNEYS HOME OF REAL FUKIN’ MUSIC) may be closing its doors for good… Get in touch and show you support @ Facebook & be sure to get down to their final month of shows..

So you’ve probably heard by now that we’re being forced from our current home. We can’t really go into the reasons due to ongoing legal action but needless to say, we’re copping a good ol fashion Sydney shafting which is only too common place for our poor battered music community.

While we are desperately searching for a new home, we have just taken a severe financial hit so if we are to survive at all, we need your help.

There is talk of a fundraiser at some stage but in the short term, please support our last month of events so we can stay solvent and hopefully move onto bigger and better things.

PLEASE HELP SPREAD THE WORD BY INVITING PEOPLE TO THIS EVENT. AND POSTING THIS EVENT ON YOUR WALL.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

We’ll post each week of events on this event so please stay tuned.

Huge love,

Tone family x

P.S Please post your fav Tone gig and/or moment on the wall. It would really lift our spirits.

CLASSIC DISCO,ELECTRONICA: Donna Summer – I Feel Love (12″ Version Extended Original)

David Bowie wandered into the studio when Donna Summer was recording this song. He turned to the producer and said “this is going to change the face of music” and he was right. One music icon recognized the genius of another! Donna summer wrote this song and it can still be pointed to as the song that started an entire dance movement that is still in effect today. Pure genius and inspiration!

COSMIC BOOGIE|FUNK|DISCO: Rotating Soul Records – The East Liberty Quarters EP

It always puts a smile on my face whenever QUALITY MUSIC comes our way & this one, did just that with the Super-Fresh Intergalactic Boogie sounds running right through this 6 track EP from Pittsburgh-based trio Rotating Souls. The EP came through as an email just this morning so I don’t  know much about them, but by listening through I would say they are deeply influenced by Giorgio Moroder, as you can hear that classic funky 80’s Synth-Bass vibes running right through the release.

Really digging this and can’t wait to hear more of Rotating Souls.. & props to them for still putting good music like this on on Vinyl too.

The EP is out on Vinyl! & Digital, click for more info:

About the Original!
Rock With You” was written by Rod Temperton and recorded by Michael Jackson. It was released on November 3, 1979, as the second single from Michael Jackson‘s fifth album, Off the Wall. Written by Heatwave group member and songwriter Rod Temperton, who also wrote Jackson’s 1984 song “Thriller“. The song helped Jackson score one of the first Billboard number-one singles in the 1980s. It reached number one on both the pop and R&B singles chart and became one of Jackson’s most-loved songs. A video for the song shows a smiling Jackson dancing in a sequined suit against a background laser. According to Billboard, the song was the fourth biggest single of 1980. It is also considered one of the last big hits of the discoera. It was re-released as a single on February 27, 2006, as part of the Visionary: The Video Singles box set.
