Funky Monks is the title of a 1991 documentary (also the title of a song from the 1991 album Blood Sugar Sex Magik) about the rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers and the recording of their highly successful 1991 Warner Bros. debut Blood Sugar Sex Magik. The album was produced by Rick Rubin and recorded in a supposedly haunted house which Rubin now owns. The 60 minute documentary, which was filmed in black-and-white, features footage of the band recording many of the tracks that made the album, and tracks that were realeased a few years later (such as Soul to Squeeze and Sikamikanico). Footage from this documentary was also featured in the Suck My Kiss music video, which was released in 1992. Funky Monks was originally released on VHS but was re-released on DVD. The Chili Peppers returned to the mansion located in California to record their 2006 album, Stadium Arcadium.

‘In A Little While’, from her debut, self-titled EP due out in September 2012.

As a young girl, Maxi trained and performed in Musical Theatre, before setting of to travel overseas. Upon returning to her hometown Melbourne in 2009, Maxi began gigging regularly playing acoustic sets, singing backing vocals, recording and writing with other local musicians, producers and DJs.

Maxi’s collaborations with other artists, allowed her to play shows interstate and on some of the largest local festival stages including Good Vibrations, Parklife, Hot BBQ.
In 2010 Maxi also co-wrote the track ‘Little Miss’, which placed in the top 50 Acoustic tracks at the Oz Music Awards of that year.

Written in her parent’s attic, recorded and produced by Joel Witenberg in a house over the summer of 2011/12, ‘In A Little While’ is the first taste of Maxi that is impossible to ignore, showcasing her trademark vocal harmonies which explode from the speakers, while the driving drums, percussion and dark synthesizers create a relentless energetic rhythm captivating your heart and soul.Written in her parent’s attic, recorded and produced by Joel Witenberg in a house over the summer of 2011/12, ‘In A Little While’ is the first taste of Maxi that is impossible to ignore, showcasing her trademark vocal harmonies which explode from the speakers, while the driving drums, percussion and dark synthesizers create a relentless energetic rhythm captivating your heart and soul.
